Geek to the Rescue not your typical geeks

June 19th, 2008

Geeks are everywhere these days. Turn on the TV and they’ve got their own sitcoms. They have music videos on MTV. Drive down the street and you might get cut off in traffic by a geek in a Volkswagen. But before you get too fed up with geeks altogether, you should make your way over to Geek to the Rescue.

Long before the ‘Geek Squad’ ever dawned their shiny badges and pocket protectors, there was a local company providing computer and network support for Nebraskans. Geek to the Rescue was founded several years before the Big Box stores began ripping-off consumers with high-cost, low-value computer services. Being independently owned, Geek to the Rescue sets itself apart.

Don’t be fooled by the marketing. Take your computer to the “real” geeks at Geek to the Rescue. You can reach them at 435-4335, or stop in at 1371 South 33rd Street, just north of 33rd and ‘A’.

Welcome to ComputerRepairLincoln.com!

May 26th, 2008

Hi. I want to welcome you to computerrepairlincoln.com!

I’ve been involved in the computer industry in Lincoln for about 5 years and counting. Lincoln, Nebraska is where I grew up, and it has become a hotbed for computer repair professionals and and PC service centers. Being a largely rural area, there are a lot of beginning computer users who are anxious to find help and suggestions for how to better maintain and utilize their personal computers, both at home and at work.

I really enjoy answering people’s questions about their home computers, and tackling new challenges related to computer software and hardware. Ever since I was 4 years old and started playing games on floppy disks, I have been fascinated by technology. I’ve never thought of myself as a “geek” or a “computer nerd”, however, because I feel like you really don’t have to be a nerd to get excited about computers.

More people today are interested in computers than ever before. Not all of them are wearing glasses with tape on them or are wearing pocket protectors. In fact, I think it’s becoming a lot more difficult to spot “computer nerd” in a crowd.

So for those of you who still think you’re not a geek, this site is for you (I still hate that word!).
